Annual Club Tour

Olicanian Cricket Club has been running an Annual Tour since 1981, when they first visited Billingham in Northumberland. Oxford was the next venue, but since 1989 the tour has taken place in Suffolk.

For many years the base was the George and Dragon in Long Melford, but for the last decade the club has been based at the Hill Lodge Hotel, Sudbury, where they are expertly looked after by the owner Mrs Irene Franklin and her staff

The touring party consists of between 18 and 20 members, not all of whom are 'playing' members, but are there for the jovial social occasion the tour provides.

The itinerary over the last few years has been:

Monday 20 overs per side V Acton, 6 pm start
Tuesday 40 overs per side V Burres, 2pm start
Wednesday 40 overs per side V Twinstead, 2pm start
Thursday Timed game V Sudbury, 11:30am start

The 2008 tour, for the first time, will commence on a Sunday, with the tour party travelling to Suffolk. This will provide an opportunity for the tour party to play golf on the Monday morning, before the traditional tour warm up and bonding session at the White Horse Sudbury in the afternoon.
